mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2015 Okay ... I am tired of this! Just to show you that you're not so special, MW, I decided to tie a realistic grub worm. Here's the original worm that I patterned from. Using a secret hook and secret thread and materials, I tied up this realistic waxworm. I know, it doesn't look nearly as good as your bug on a hook, but it's my first try.

mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 Did you go and thread a waxworm onto a hook Mike>?? lol BCT Well, not really ... It would look much better if I had PhotoShop ... but all I had to work with was MSPaint. No waxworms were hurt in the manufacturing of that picture. MW69 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 Hi, thank's a lot for all your nice comments :-) @ mikechell: your idea is very cool and means a lot less work than my way of tying them. Stupid me :-) MW
mikechell 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 Thanks, MW. You are correct ... took me about 10 minutes. Better yet, I did while my students were busy with their projects, right here in the class room. No benches or tying mess. Granted, I am feeling very little "satisfaction" ... and I didn't even get to handle a real worm ... but it's probably the only way I'll ever "tie" something as good as the realistics you guys do.
