My Flies

Recommended Posts

Here are three examples of what I am capable of producing consistently so far. Please tell me what you think. Sorry for the bad pictures, all I have is my camera phone right now.post-3600-1131433678_thumb.jpgpost-3600-1131433662_thumb.jpgpost-3600-1131433641_thumb.jpg

:D Thanks for your kind words. I appreciate them, as they are a boost for my confidence.

So far, I've been trying to learn a pattern at a time. Can any of you recommend a pattern for me to try next, keeping in mind that I prefer to fish for bass and panfish?

Thanks in advance,

T.L.

One of the first flies I tied and like to tell others to tie is the Royal coachman. You learn a lot of techniques in just one fly. You can also try any of the different versions of the fly. Bluegills love them, might even get a bass on a big royal wulff.

Terry,

For panfish and bass I tie up ants and spiders, with woolys being a close second espically for bass and crappie. Pickerel have really loved mickey finns and and a streamer I got out of FLy Tyer called the Gierach Special. By the way there is nothing like a 2 pound bass on a 5wt fly outfit. BEAT a trout anyday.

i have the best luck, and tie some of the best flies on craft foam, sold by the sheet, it's like 1 to 2mm thick.

Makes great popping and topwater (spiders) bugs.
