  1. The second is definately not a jack caravelle. it looks like some sort of jack caravelle/ permit cross with a large eye.
  2. I want to do some surf fishing again this year when I go to Puerto Vallarta. What is a good line for casting into the surf? What are some fly suggestions? I am used to lake fly fishing for trout, walleye and pike. I am not used to casting into the waves of an incoming tide... last year it was a bit of a disaster for me and my intermediate sink tip chortland line... I definately had the wrong expectations of what the line would do. What a dissapointment it barely sank. Going Feb 17 so I have a little time to prepare this year. I'm open to any suggestions.
  3. Did you find your baitfish patterns (the ones you submitted) effective for tarpon and barracuda?
  4. Good to see that the pattern worked, and that you caught a nice big bull. The weather in Alberta has been amazing... If it weren't for university I would have went out yesterday to take advantage of the plus 11C here in edmonton.
  5. I am heading down to Puerto Vallarta for reading week and will be doing some fly fishing for roosterfish. I welcome any recommendations for patterns that people have fished for roosters with.
