Been lurking here a few years, finally decided to start posting some. Just an old hillbilly from the Smoky Mountains in western NC. I started fly fishing and fly tying a bit over forty years ago. I was lucky enough to learn from some of the old timers like Verlin Evans, Jack Bradley, my cousin Charlie Messer, and some not-so-old timers like Roger Lowe. Nowadays, I mostly fish little blueline creeks for wild and native fish, along with chasing some smallmouth. Been tying for forty years or so, still tie sloppy-looking ugly flies, but they catch fish. I've learned a good bit over the years from lurking here.
