eastern fly 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2014 I have only gotten one bite but no fish yet with it. I think it will pay off. It looks great in the water. Kevin
FlaFly 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2014 Sorry... it's pretty but I know nothing about streamers so I'm no judge. I do like your joke though!

noahflyfisher 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2014 I live in Sacramento! I haven't gone after them with a fly rod yet but they're in the river now! just big streamers I'm guessing right?

Actually, they do not need to be all that big. I've had good luck with flies as small as 2" up to flies longer than 6". The trick is to get the fly in front of the fish. Sometimes (often) we use leadcore line. Not all too fun to cast, but if you want to catch fish... I'm more of a trout/steelhead guy, but have been known to call in sick when a friend tells me he's taking his boat out on the Delta and I really should join him. noahflyfisher 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2014 Where do you go for trout? I like the Sacramento river but the American river is closest to my house. Have you heard of the Rubicon ?
oldtrout58 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2014 Where do you go for trout? I like the Sacramento river but the American river is closest to my house. Have you heard of the Rubicon ? I like to recommend fishing the Upper Sacramento around Dunsmuir. EDIT: I've been fly fishing in CA since the late 60s and have fished most of the well-know water in the the state like the American and Rubicon. OP Please forgive the hijack.
