After driving straight from Estase Park and fishing the Big Thompson in Colorado yesterday and getting home at 4:30 this morning, I took a 1 hour nap and headed for work. Work took me to Branson this afternoon so while I was down there, I figured I might as well get some fishing in. Tried my luck at nymphing without an indicator and faired pretty well. This is the 1st time I've sight fished to all the fish I caught. Ended up sticking 6 bows one pushing 3 1/2 maybe 4 pounds. Also caught 3 small browns. Could not see the fly all the time but the reaction of the fish told me when I had most of my takes. Size 18 sowbugs in natural brown and dark hare's mask worked the best. Did get a few takes on a brown san juan worm. The weather was unseasonable warm with sum gusty winds. Big difference from Estes Park.
Dodging tornados right now. Man life is exciting!
