ole_florida_mike 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2016 We'd go so far as to call the Polar Fiber Minnow a modern Lefty's Deceiver due to its effectiveness in nearly every situation where fish are eating smaller fish. The key is to figure out the right amount of material to create that natural baitfish profile, then you can adapt colors and size to match the available prey or stand out from the crowd. agn54 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2016 Outstanding video. It's a simple fly but you do an excellent job of explaining how to work with the materials. I agree on it's effectiveness. This, along with a craft fur minnow (tied differently but with a similar profile), are my safety net flies. When Im getting skunked I tie one on. If I still don't get anything, then I know the fish just ain't biting that day, that or I'm in the wrong place

ole_florida_mike 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2016 Thanks FlatsRoamer & islander727. Agn, agreed, slowly stripping & twitching the PFM is my favorite way to fish finicky snook.
tidewaterfly 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2016 Nice! I'm not a big fan of synthetic materials yet. I have many types but it's been a slow process gaining confidence in them. However, a few years ago I tried streamers I had bought that are versions of the Polar Fibre Minnow for bass & was very impressed with them. I really like how they move in the water & even though I didn't catch many fish on them at yet, certainly feel they'll eventually produce well for me.
