breambuster 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2004 I am attempting to submit the Bully's Bluegill Spider to the Fly Pattern Database. When I tied this fly for the Crappie, Bluegill, Panfish Swap; I was working from a not-so-hot picture in a book. Since then, I've learned that the rubber legs should be positioned somewhat differently from the ones I tied for the swap. I hope that the picture and explanation in the database will be helpful to those who wish to tie this fly. I apologize for any inconvenience. The Junkie 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Ill have to try that in black. Anything with black rubber legs in my lake kills the gills.
BusterWolfe 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Good tie and nice photo. I also have had good luck with these, and have a handful each in chartreuse, fluorescent red (almost pink, BUT NOT ) and orange. I hadn't thought of black, but that would be good in muddy water and overcast. hmmmmmmm
breambuster 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Junkie, the originators of this pattern, Terry & Roxanne Wilson, recommend the yellow that I tied, but also white, black and olive. Breambuster
