  1. you should consider using an orange Tungston bead in place of the orange dubbing to help it get down http://www.czechnymph.com/en/index.php?&am...;product_id=246
  2. I really like that. I think its supe nice and would be great for fishing too! When you do it with the mono legs will you post again for a sample view? Thanks
  3. YELLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. A beatle that works great for me If you go to a craft store get some 2mm black foam. size 12 hook black thread peacock herl foam Cut foam in fish like shape but instead of cutting the tail end with sharp edges make them round. Tie head of fish on at back side of hook. Take your thread at the back where you tied in your foam, and tie in three strands of peacock herl. Make a dubbing loop. Take the peacock herl and thread and twist them together to make a chanile (sp). Wrap it wrap the chanile forward and tie it off. Pull the foam over the top and tie off where your tail area starts. So you have basically two lumps, the main body and the head. if you want you can add legs i dont and they work well
  5. Look in the phone book for a local rod and gun club. I go out to our gun club when iknow certain seasons are starting adn on sundays when 15 guys bring yoiu 2 or 3 bucktails or the rump of a turkey its a really great feeling. They only throw the stuff out and so they like to see it go to use. Just make sure you put it in the freezer for a week to kill anything. Good luck and enjoy your world tour all the best and tight lines.
  6. i use a 1/2 inch copper pipe as my puncher and it works great. nice and easy similar to the punch that sniksoh uses. Another possibility for poppers is getting hobby corks. you can get about 10 for a couple bucks and you can shape em however you want but its not as much fun
  7. One issue i have is that the foam body continues to rotate as i spin it. I tried going very lightly and no change. I also tried a screw and put the drill in reverse so that it would force itself agaist the screw head and use the friction but still nothing different. Any suggestions Thanks
  8. This is great. Exactly what I needed to see and read. I am going ot make a bunch of these guys tomorrow. I tried to make some and shame them with a blade but they look terrible. These all look great so we will see how the pan out tomorrow Thanks again Cheers Connor
  9. Thank yoiu so much that is what i need. They look great and I would love to be able to do them like that Cheers
  10. I have a question for you sniksoh Are those 2mm foam sheets laminated together? If so whod you shape them so well? I have been playing with foam and tying poppers but mine are rough looking. Any input would be appreciated. Keep up the great tying i love seeing your warm water flies Cheers
  11. thanks very much now i hope they catch me a nice steelie

  13. Hey Just playing with some steelhead flies. I saw this one on the net and decided to giver her a try. I also did it in a few other colours What do you think Sorry about the quality of the photos I think the tail is too long on this one Thanks
  14. all the ones above mentioned but i like prince nymphs too. they seem to work well for me no matter what.
  15. Hi there Turkey season is coming up and a guy from the rod and gun club told me he would save me the feathers from his turkey's. I was wondering if anyone knows which feathers are the ones I want. Rump, wings, what area exactly? Also do i have to do anything to them, as in cleaning or can i just tie with them and not worry about it. Thanks Connor
