Beetle

Recommended Posts

That's a great representation of a beetle. Fine tying skill and good eye. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like some info on materials and techniques used. Thanks for posting.

Thanks, and here is the recipe

Hook;curved hook size 12

Tread;black uni 8/0

Legs; Black small wire as I bent to resemble legs and antennae

Body; Black foam I tie in the foam back of the hook and tie it down on the hook to the body shape I want, bigger to the end of the hook and smaller to the head you can cut it like this ()

then I have used dark gray dub to the body under the foam between the legs,I stroke some clear lacquer on the foam and let it dry and so it looks like a hard shell

Eyes; Burnt nylon painted whit black lacquer

you can change the color of the foam and legs and you get different bugs :)

I hope it was understandable ?
