Took the basic Carnage framework and draped it with said ungulate hair. Notional tying sequence; body's a bit chunky, a few less tail fibers next time. Tied here as a Fall Drake; change color/size to suit your needs. hook Dai Riki 135 #12 thread/rib - UTC 140 tan core - 7lb mono tail - deer hair rib - Uni 6/0 camel abdomen/wing - yearling elk hair bleached hackle - deer hair make a loop in a piece of mono mash barb, start thread at mid shank; brush on some Superglue and tie in mono clean, stack, measure (2x shank) a clump of deer hair; tie in/trim butts hook the loop onto the gallows; tie in rib, wrap up the body and back to tie-in clean, stack, measure (shank length +) a clump of elk; 2 soft loops, then pull firmly while holding onto elk, flaring tips while keeping it from spinning trim away about 1/2 of the butts, wrap remaining up the tail pull buts back down, surrounding underbody; tie off at base of wing and trim rib body; tie off/trim pull wing back; set angle with thread dam create thread loop; wax clean, stack a clump of deer hair, insert in clip, trim butts; insert clip in loop, adjust tips (should be about 1 1/2 x gap width), spin stroke fibers back, take a couple wraps behind the wing and in front; tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN trim out hackle underneath Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
