  1. The pics don't display in the post for me, but I can click on the image names and see the pics. Awesome looking rod!
  2. Some Nova Scotia Brookies...
  3. It was a nice morning for a canoe ride.
  4. Congrats Steve! I quit in Sept 2000. It wasn't an easy thing to do, but I agree that it's the best decision I've ever made.
  5. So, my son and I made plans to go fishing last Saturday. This is what we woke up to... I didn't let that stop us, although I wish I had. It was about 1C (34F) and it rained the entire morning. Our perserverence paid off, though, we were rewarded with about a dozen of these: The one in the pic was caught on a red/black simi seal leech But most of them that day were caught on these. Brown wooly bugger with dark brown grizzly hackle and snowshoe hare for a tail.
  6. I've been lurking for a while and thought it was about time to say hello. I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada. I've fished all my life, but only began fly fishing about 5 or 6 years ago, and just took up tying my own flies last year. I really enjoy seeing the many flies posted by some very talented participants here. I'd like to say a huge Thanks to all those who take the time to share their talents. We have many species here, such as Smallmouth Bass, Pickerel, Striped Bass, and Brown Trout, but my real love and about 99% of my fishing is for native Brook Trout. I do a bit of hunting, also, so I try to make flies that incorporate some of the Rabbit, Grouse, Pheasant, Ducks, Deer and other wildlife harvested locally. My flies are nowhere near the quality of most of what is posted here, but I do hope to be able to share some of them with you. Thanks, Tim
