1. Here is one I tied up sitting in Terrace, BC. Also is a picture of my first wild BC steelhead.
 2. They can't all come out like you wanted. Here is a butchered version of the butcher. Didn't have the right materials and the wing is a bit small. Oh well.
 3. One from today. Green Butt Skunk variant.
 4. Here are a couple from this month. Blind eye is a 2/0 partridge and the second is an AJ 3/0.

What do you use for the wings for the white wing dee's?

Thanks!! The blind eye are the AJ 1.5's. The white wings are mostly goose shoulder. The ones on the right side are white turkey wing. I have to admit I tied the ones on the left the wrong way. They are tied over lapping. Then I read that they need to be butted up against eachother so I switched it and started tying it correctly. I don't think the fish will care either way.
 6. Almost done filling my bugger beast JR. Then one more smaller bugger barn for my trip to BC.
 7. That should scare one up Chef. Best advice I can give on the head of the fly is to stop way before you think you need to with your materials and make the least amount of wraps as possible. You don't have to worry so much when you're tying flies that have a good amount of hackle up front. When you get into the sparse Spey flies you will notice how too much thread can make finishing the fly a pain.

With that second one i fancy the underwing you have used, toyed around with this a bit while mounting wings and it really makes it a load easier and perhaps more durable. Seen a couple of patterns around that call for a 'prop' or 'hidden underwing'. That one tho gives a nice stripe or flash of purple to the fly, i'd just make the throat a bit shorter, could be the photo tho.

Thanks! I figured I would try an underwing on there since I have never seen it too much. Even researched it on a few pages and couldn't find anything. Yeah, a couple of he barbs stuck out straight at me for some reason so they look a bit longer. I don't think the fish will mind though.
 10. Looking great gentleman!! Here are a couple speys from today.
 11. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="FishDragon" data-cid="537456" data-time="1360726674">
Have to say that is one sweet fly ChefBen. I love the look of spey flies and just ordered a book on how to tie them. I hope by next fall to have a few of those types of flies to share.

One thing I often do is upload a fly than pick it to pieces but if you never learn from mistakes you will never learn. To me it looks like the tinsel belongs right where it is.

There is a lot of great information out there on tying Spey flies. I taught myself how to tie married wings after reading a step by step I found on Spey Pages. Needless to say it was a long and frustrating month at the vise. I went through a lot of turkey feathers trying to get wings to set right. Still learning as always. I can say though it has helped my tying tremendously since now I pay more attention to how much thread I put on a hook. My dries and trout flies look Bette (to me at least). I really enjoy tying the speys and fishing them as well. I stick to freestyle since I can be more creative and just use the materials I have. FeathersMC is a great source for classic materials when they have them in stock. I just can't see ponying up the money for some of the material called for on classic patterns for flies I am going to fish.
 12. Thanks. The top two are AJ size one and the bottom two are AJ 3/0 Spey hooks. All of them are freestyle.
 13. Here are a few from this month. The last fly still has head cement drying. These are all for my trip to BC in April.
