Rocco 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2017 I once had a bunch of Antron that I bought in shanks or on spools from tying shops. It had higher gloss threads added that together gave off a sheen when it was chopped and blended into furs etc for dubbing. Have not seen the product in years. Antron i can find now is either already in dubbed form or in shanks for knitting and both are w/o the sparkle. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks, Rocco
Camp'n'fish 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2017 Could you mix a shank of Antron with the flash of your choice? Some strands of wing and flash maybe?
SilverCreek 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2017 Dazzelaire yarn is 80 % acrylic & 20% nylon. Dazzelaire is a very fine fibered sparkle yarn. I use it to make fine sparkle dubbing. Aunt Lydias Heavy Rug Yarn is the Antron fibers you see in fly shops. Antron is a nylon yarn used for making carpets: http://www.antron.eu/en/about.html and http://www.invista.com/en/commercial-flooring/antron.html and http://antron.net/na/pdfs/literature/K02510_N66vsN6_Tech_Bulletin_06_18_13.pdf Del Brown's Merkin Crab fly pattern specified Aunt Lydias Rug yarn. Now is tied with substitutes like craft yarn, Puglisi fibers, etc. Here is a pattern that specifes rug yarn. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/flytying/fotw/10497fotw.php If you search on Ebay, you still can find both Dazzelaire and Aunt Lydias Heavy Rug Yarn. Ask for close up photos to get the genuine yarn. Here is batch of vaious colors that will cost $10.00 skein with shipping: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Aunt-Lydias-Polyester-Heavy-Rug-Yarn-60-70-Yd-Skeins-craft-handbags-hat/222673161764? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1311.R1.TR3.TRC1.A0.H0.XDazzelair+.TRS0&_nkw=dazzleaire+yarn&_sacat=
