AUGUST FLIES from the bench

Recommended Posts

Looked at some Kelly Galloups vids on the tube. Tried a bottoms up but down sized for trout. Here it is after a test swim. Sits up really well. Next attempt will have a lot more herl in the tail but it looks a lot better in the water than I hoped. Especially the rubber legs at the bottom

Wow Piker! You must have some kind of record for posts! I bet you get 1000 by 6 months!

Nice fly by the way.

If you can't be fishing might as well bore someone about fishing! The wifes family have all moved up north including 3 fishers so hopefully be able to leave the kids and wet more fluff.

Like that Al. Had chance to wet it yet? Its a shame we don't have chub this far north. They would love that

Not yet! The bits only arrived in the post this morning. Work this afternoon so will not be trying it today.

I experimented in creating a new Pike fly. It's made from hollow tied Alpaca fur, on a 2/0 hook. It's got a very bulky profile in the water when it's being fished, a chunky baitfish profile lol

Great flies, everyone! Here is a squid-ish jig/fly thing for the salt I concocted! I probably won't even fly fish with it, but instead will jig it off a boat for lings.B)

Enjoy!

Thank You and Tight Lines,

Carson LeBoeuf

Eventually a fly will be produced from this bench, but I thought I would share the preparation phase of an evening of fly tying. A little Kentucky bourbon will produce immense inspiration.
