Fished with a fella from St. Louis last night for about 4 hours. Temp was 35 and raining. Perfect fishing weather! Started off fishing with size 10 sow bugs in Awesome possom natural light and natural brown under a lighted indicator below outlet 1 in the flats. Caught 5-6 rainbows in the 14-19 inch range and 2 little browns. One of the browns was squirting eggs so the spawn is still going on. Switched over to size 10 white slumpbusters and worked my way to the rabar, throught the gauntlet and down to the big hole. Picked up another 20-25 fish, mostly bows. The fish were picking it up on a dead drift at the tail of the swing. My partner did stick a nice brown in the 3 pound range before we decided to call it a night. Still seeing lots of big fish and the big bows are still moving in. Nymphing under a lighted indicator seems to be the best way to target the bigger browns right now. It's just not as fun as swinging and stripping streamers.
