  1. Congratulations to all the winners! Congrat's to the overall winner, Dr. Rock, great looking flies!! Nice to see New Brunswick representing there Lloyd (drops) Way to go!! Just seeing this now, didn't think it had been announced, but see that it had some time ago and that I placed as well, thanks to those who voted for my fly and thanks to Will for putting on another great FTOTY contest this year! I remember entering my first FTOTY contest in 2004 and boy, what an eye opener back then, I worked hard for a year on my flies and got salmon rookie of the year in 2005, and in 2006 placed a 3rd, and it really pushed me to improve my tying, and that's what it's all about, pushing your limits and trying to better your tying from year to year. I was unable to enter in 2007 and 2008, but I made the deadline for 2009 thankfully and it paid off, thanks again to those that voted. All the flies are beautifully done and hope to see more next year!! All the best, Damian.
  2. Hey, Thanks a million! Gee's and all this time I was waiting for the announcement. Should have asked sooner I guess. Thanks again, Damian.
  3. Hi guys, Just trying to find the posts announcing the overall winner of the FTOTY 2009 contest? Can't seem to find it, can anyone help me out. Thanks in advance. Damian.
  4. Hey guys, Thanks so much for your support!!! I've got alot of ground to cover in 6 short days, the highest vote count is 333, Just found out about the contest a few days ago. Good fun anyhow! Thanks again!! All the Best, Damian.
  5. Everybody, I've entered the "Live to Fish Contest" on the WFN (World Fishing Network) Website and I would like you to check out my entry!! It would mean alot if you'd take the time to place a vote for me, doing so is very easy. Underneath the thumbnail images of the entries on the main page is a series of 5 fish, click on them, then enter your email address, this will count as 1 view or 1 vote for the entry. Click on this link to find the entries, and search for Damian Welsh and follow the steps above. Voting closes on the 6th of June. Thank you for taking the time to view my entry. Here are the links.... http://wfn.tv/livetofish/photogallery.php http://wfn.tv/livetofish/view_ Thanks so Much, Hope everyone is doing well, I've been a little absent lately, hopefully that will change, All the best to all, and thanks for your help. Damian.

  7. I'm really sorry to hear about this, I can't imagine what you are all feeling. Thankfully everyone is safe and alive, sorry to hear that some of your pets didn't make it. You will all be in my thoughts.
  8. Ditto, would love to see your work at www.classicflytying.com Damian.
  9. Hey all, Thanks for the kind words. I think the answer to all questions above would be yes . I dyed the burnt goose myself, some was white to start and some was a light grey, there's a bit of colour difference with a few, but the shade of highlander green matched the highlander green dubbing they sent, so that's good. Glad you liked them, each one averaged between 12-15 minutes to tie and I actually uploaded a video of me tying this pattern on HatchesTV. Some great looking flies on here lately that you guys are whipping up, I wish I had more time to respond to them all. All the Best, Damian.
  10. Hi Guys, Here's a group of 30 Highlander speys that I did. It's been awhile since I posted anything, or commented, but you guys are turning out some really incredible flies here. Cheers. Damian.
  11. Hi Guys, Doing up 30 of these puppies for a client, thought I'd do a video of one for HatchesTV. Spey Style Green Highlander Hope you like it. Damian.
