Anyone know of sources for the blank cards for chenille, yarns, etc.? I have a little bit of these
materials I wish to get rid of and havent found
a source yet.

Get a poster board from the local hobby store, draw a pattern and cut it out...PRESTO.

They're called "cardboard floss bobbins."

Here's a sale from E-bay ... a little over $5.00 (price and shipping) for 100.

Thanks Mikechell! I think those might be a little small, but I may have to go that route. The ones I
am looking for are about 3 1/2 x 4 like the fly shops use.

Search the name "cardboard floss bobbins".  You'll get lots of hits, including different sizes.

Once you find a supplier, you should be able to find the sizes you want.

I found 28 plastic floss bobbins at Wal- Mart for 1.50  I unspool my Flat Tinsels,Yarn & Flosses on them  to save space ...

go to walmart and get some small zip lock bags in the craft department

insert lengths of chenille in the bags versus wrapping on cards. eliminates the creases in the chenille caused by the cards

pretty easy to make

Does the yarn or floss tangle when you use it from the bag?

not as much as trying to undo a skein of yarn to cut off lengths to stuff in the bag. try it and see if you get a single 144 yard strand of yarn etc smile.png

not really an issue to the 25+ people who received from me free bags of the yarn shown above

I have all of my chenille in bags.. Working chenille from a bag is a lot easier to work than from a card ..  It can save material if you have a rotary vice and it dose not leave kink marks in it
