Poor quality materials and tools are destined to discourage beginner and experienced tiers and cause greater expense when the time comes to replace them.

Fly tyers can be masters at making things complicated!

got it now, nice video. keep tying dont quit!!!    and tie them small trout flies they make you a better tier in the end. I live in Florida and still tie #12 and smaller flies for fun and to sharpen the skills! And bluegills eat them too

You did a good job on the video. I like buying American when I'm able. After you tie a few hundred flies on the vise maybe do an update video?

As one who drinks and ties, for well over 30 years now, I've noticed the fish care not a whit... (I tie somewhat poorly sober as well...)

PS: I have a similar vise, I had a Griffin 2A for nearly 20 years, Mrs. Skeet6 bought me a Griffin Odyssey cam type last year, it's great - and yeah, I think the O-ring they give is a spare. You'll find the O-rings help to set the tension on the rotary feature.
