  1. I think i'm the most original, Karel Gol is my real name Karel
  2. On the rodbuildingforum i saw pictures of someone clipping 4 triangles from these double edged blades and used those in his Xacto knife holder. I suppose this gives you more control, maybe also a useable tip in this case. Karel
  3. I just bought a secretaire and am now allowed to ty in the living room. Just thought i'd show you Still have to move all the stuff from my old chest into it, so enjoy it while it's still neat. Karel
  4. I use mostly furled leaders, think they'll unwrap when i try this. Karel
  5. I have an RGSAGA which is about the same (price/quality/firm in India) which works fine. Also saw a few of these on sleazebay. The factory itself wants orders of over 500US$ so i suppose someone has bought a bunch (for about US$ 9 a piece) and now making a nice profit. Karel
  6. Transportation to europe would be quite pricey i suppose. I was more thinking about something like this: (from a folder of Formido, a local DIY store) Still have to think about adapting this one by making a lid on it which can be used as a tying surface. And when folded in the legs wil stick out (so something telescopic would do perhaps, or i might place the legs 90 degrees to how they are placed here) Karel
  7. Which one was the silicone version of mucilin? Red or green? Don't know if it still matters anymore, back then there was the believe that silicone would ruin your fly line, nowadays when i buy a (Scientific Anglers?) fly line they advice something called poo goo, which in principle is pure silicone :dunno: Karel
  8. Everytime i hear "portable fly tying table" i wonder why i can't find some kind of tying case with foldout legs. Maybe a DIY project? Karel
  9. For a whipfinisher i'd go for the matarelli type. http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=S0JF94-qhQw Karel
  10. Have heard of some guys using the microwave to kill bugs. Don't know how long/how hot. Three weeks in the freezer should also do a lot of good (for the tyer, not for the bugs) Karel
  11. Steenwijk, The Netherlands, about 200 km north of the old Sealand, which is btw the only place where something close to natural trout can be caught in my country :ripped: Karel
  12. Tied a lot on a Regal but wanted to try the Norvise style vice and didn't want to pay so much for something i might not like. So i build my own, starting with a pair of skateboard bearings Tried a few of the techniques Norlander shows in his videos and it works fine. Think i'll downsize things a bit, it's a little bulky apparatus Karel
