Crackaig 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2017 Nicely done. If you are worried about the detached deer hair body, it is a lot easier to tie them on a needle and slide them off. You can tie a whole bunch that way, in no time. For strength coat them in one of the liquid skin products that you get for small cuts. Makes them much stronger. Here we use a lot of deer hair detached body flies for dapping. We have tried foam and chenille as alternatives. They don't work half as well as the deer hair ones. Cheers, C. Tom Cummings 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2017 Never gave thought to liquid skin in my fly equipment. Will get me some later today and try it on a shrimp with scud back
SBPatt 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2017 Tied this one to scratch an itch, but for fishing, I'll stick to the mono-core Carnage style. No need to transfer from a needle and the foam holds up a long time, much more durable than deer hair; fish don't care, either. Regards, Scott
