First fish of the year from the Team on a quick trip to the local pond - Rainbow Trout! Post.
Posted an SBS on the fishing fly that we used to catch this trout. Seems to be working well this Season for us!

Had issues with slow downloads for mobile smartphones. Made some changes, seems to work better, save for when the GoogleBots start doing their thing.Here is another post that should run better along with the upcoming events post....
Variation of the Near Deere pattern where we use the marabou plume used for the tail to make the body. Replaces the chenille. Black Near Deere Variant.

Not able to hit the local ponds for trout this last week or this past weekend. Broke down to fix the "wet a line urge" and free-lined bread on ultralight spinning gear. Caught several Catfish. Post.
Did fly fish with the 2-wt and the switch rod at a couple of ponds last week but to takers... was hoping to get a bluegill or two to keep the fishing addiction in check. Struck out... so glad to have caught something today.
