Trout were moving about and feeding on the surface at out local pond this morning. After working different parts of the pond, settled in on the "point" and was able to limit out sight casting to passing schools.

Caught two on a Griffith's Gnat, then ran out of the fishing fly... too many "tree fish" liking the fishing flies. Switched to a PMC Emerger - a fly we used on the Blue River in the past on trout actively feeding on/near the water surface. Was able to get three more to make a limit! Video Post.

Posted an SBS on the fishing fly that we used to catch this trout. Seems to be working well this Season for us!

Had issues with slow downloads for mobile smartphones.  Made some changes, seems to work better, save for when the GoogleBots start doing their thing. Here is another post that should run better along with the upcoming events post....

Variation of the Near Deere pattern where we use the marabou plume used for the tail to make the body. Replaces the chenille. Black Near Deere Variant.

Not able to hit the local ponds for trout this last week or this past weekend. Broke down to fix the "wet a line urge" and free-lined bread on ultralight spinning gear. Caught several Catfish. Post.

Did fly fish with the 2-wt and the switch rod at a couple of ponds last week but to takers... was hoping to get a bluegill or two to keep the fishing addiction in check. Struck out... so glad to have caught something today.
