Hardyrod1974 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2018 I'm considering the purchase of the most recent edition of Ray Bergman's "Trout", published in 2000. I would buy it mainly for the plates of the flies. I'm wondering how good are the photos in this edition? I know that anything in that book is probably online somewhere but I'm one of those that enjoy a good book in my hands. I'd like to hear from those that have this edition. Thank you Rich

redietz 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2018 If don't already own a copy of Trout, it's well worth reading as well just looking at the plates.

Hardyrod1974 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2018 Flytire, Thank you! Knowing that they are paintings and not pictures, is a game changer. The painting are awesome though. Thank you for the links to the actual flies! Bob, Thank you for your recommendation of the book as reading material. I still may buy it just to read. fishingbobnelson 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2018 I bought this and the one I got had the plates in black and white. Obviously I returned it. Go on EBay lots of second and third editions for around $20.00. I have the 1933 printing right on my desk. The patterns haven't changed much.
