Fly Tying
USCGFlyGuy

Bad weather, good flies, etc...might have gotten carried away.

Today was stormy and windy in Panama City, and my house projects are all done so I tied up these guys. Waiting on some bait to show up in the bay! It has seemed promising lately but none of my usual spots are producing yet. Maybe they are waiting for these. All tied on Gama B10s #4. Senyo Laser dub for the heads.

A little something extra... Spent the week in Asheville, NC last week and this is what I did. Other than drink beer...or I should say while I drank beer. Good beer.

Great pics and nice flies. The bait hasn't really been abundant here in the Big Bend yet either. Usually by March the pods of glass minnows are everywhere but my last few times out I haven't seen much, and the mullet aren't thick yet either. I think the late cold spells pushed things back a bit this year

Pompano in the surf and spanish off the first trough. Tout are still holding in deeper holes off the flats for another week or two, heavy fur shrimp or clousers will bring fish… Nice flies and great pictures.

Sent you a PM….dave

Thanks for the support fellas!

nice flies and gotta love the wonderod

I love the Wonderod. A neighbor gave it to me years ago and I use it for bass and sunfish. So much fun to cast!

Heavy fur shrimp right? Didn't have any that fit that description so here it is. Body is Senyo Lazer Dub and natural rabbit fur on a #1 hook. Natural rabbit fur as in I found a big clump of it next to my office yesterday...

Those are some sweet looking shrimp and will fill the bill nicely. I tie a craft fur shrimp with medium eyes and fish it on an intermediate line, works great for pomps…
