Don't Ever Take Your Fishery For Granted

The threat of the BP spill taught me to never take my stretch of beach for granted.

 

This year it's being devastated by a red tide bloom that refuses to dissipate.

Probably on a scale to California wildfires in massive fish kills......

That's for sure. I've been wanting to hit pine island all summer, but that's been scratched.

 

It's terrible seeing the pics of rotting fish covering the beaches. Hopefully it will dissipate soon.

 

Thankfully, the algae on lake o has dissipated significantly in the last 3 weeks.

Always makes me sad to see this. We have a problem with the water quality issues, but thank god nothing as devastating as red tide.
