Had planned to make the trip this year but then relatives from MN are coming down this week so ruled it out. Planned to stay the week and get some fish time in but definitely will get there this year for sure.

Would have been a good swap for you to take to the event.
“The thing about fishing is that it gives a man hope. Each cast builds a little hope and if he can lose himself to that hope, then the worries and the heartache fade into the background. The wind inside him dies down for a while”

This is a great event if you are in the area. I've been several times. There are over 100 very talented tyers who set at tables and show how they tie their patterns. You are also just a short drive to two of the best trout streams in the Midwest- the White river and the Norfork.

Arguably two of the best trout streams in the US, if 30# plus browns are the target. Every time I'm in that area they have been generating though, so I've never gotten a line wet there.

Had a great time there. Learned a couple of things to try on flies now.

I will be in Branson, Mo. for the Branson Fly Expo. Then at the Sowbug next March. I look forward to tying in those events.
