seanhawk907 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2018 Hi Guys, I finally decided to build a tying station. I used left over wood from other project. I have a Stonfo Transformer vise I will be mounting to the thick piece of Walnut at the front. Let me know what you think, I am applying the poly finish as I type. Attached are a few other pictures of the fishing related projects I make. Thanks.
flytire 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2018 cant have too many holes! i would definetly smooth off the tips of the brass rods on the right. youll be cutting/scraping your arm reaching for something. been there, done that or cover them

mikechell 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2018 First ... VERY nice work. On the bench AND the boxes. I'll make the only recommendation I make to everyone building such a tying station ... magnets. Buy some magnetic strips, cut them to size and glue them to a couple of vertical surfaces. The front of a shelf or two is perfect. Gives you a place to put extra hooks, etc. When I tie, I set out to complete a certain number of a pattern. I put that many hooks on one of the magnets. mikechell 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2018 Sean, that turned out beautifully. I like the contrasting woods ... but I really like the touch of brass for the shelf supports.
