  1. Very interesting bobbin, how much are they going for? Cheers, Aron
  2. Here whats been coming off my vice lately:
  3. X2 on the "I'm cheap guy" part. Since I have not had a fish throw a hook back at me muttering something about me being a cheap A--hole.... Can't wait till my order of hooks arrive from Justin, and I am looking forward to the barbless hooks when they come out too.
  4. Nice haul indeed! Awesome material and great quality tools (Edgin, Dr Slick).
  5. If you are talking about vises like Regal or knock off vises like it. From my experiences with those types of vises are rather mixed, I think they are great for flies that are 14 and larger. Though I have heard guys say that they spit small hooks across the room, though I have not have this happen to me. With that being said, spring style vises are nice cause you never have to adjust for different sizes hooks. Perhaps someone who uses one on a regular basis can expand on this a bit more...........
  6. It might be this one, http://pikeflyfishingarticles.blogspot.com...tube-flies.html there is one called the "terminator" second from the top. My internet is craping the bed right now so I can't see a thing.
  7. the bone tools are really cool! And that rod stand is neat too! I just got good ol' regular bought tools. I have worked with bone before and it was not to bad. I might have to try and make some bodkins and stuff next time I am home. thanks for sharing.
  8. Well I might have the opportunity to go to L.A. and tour around a bit. So I was just curious if anyone knows if there are decent fishing around that area (rivers, lakes ect.)? Thanks, FA85
  9. Oh so true. Was browsing the net and came across this: "Here is what Jeff Foxworthy has to say about Canucks: You may be living in Canada if: Your local Dairy Queen (ice cream shop) is closed from September through May Someone in a Home Depot offers you assistance... and they don't work there You've worn shorts and a parka at the same time You've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed the wrong number “Vacation” means going anywhere south of Muncie for the weekend You measure distance in hours You know several people who have hit a deer more than once You have switched from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again You can drive 90 km/hr through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching You install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked You carry jumpers in your car and your wife knows how to use them You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit The speed limit on the highway is 80 km and you're going 90 and everybody is passing you Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction You have more miles on your snow blower than your car You find 2 degrees "a little" chilly If you actually understand these Canadian jokes, you definitely live in Canada! " http://www.swanparadise.com/Canadian-Jokes.html :hyst: Gotta love Jeff
  10. As always those are drop dead GORGEOUS!
  11. Well I trying to fill up my bugger stock, so I am tying buggers, buggers and more buggers. Current Color scheme is: Hook Mustad 9672 Sizes 4, 2 Tail: Black Marabou Rib: Med. Gold Wire Body: Med. Olive Pearl Chenille Hackle: Black Saddle wrapped from head to tail and then ribbed counter clockwise to Hackle wrap. Weight: .030 20 wraps on the shank of the hook. Hopefully I will get a camera in the near future, so I can post some pics...... Back to the vice... P.S. Nice ties everyone!
  12. Very nice ties! Hope you don't mind, but I am going to sit at my computer screen and admire the fine work you do spinning deer hair....................(5min. later) I am still here  ....................
  13. I tried those and did not like the result i got! The tube was to light and crushed under pressure! I'm using them for pike and found the hook(small trebles) was done before the fly was so thats why I use tubes! I've also added brass rings and metal rings and copper wire to them for weight and of coarse it adds flash too! I've been tampering with making Minnows out of Mylar on the tubes too! Thanks for the thought though, I really appreciate your input!! Blessings, Jeremy If you could post some pics of your tube flies you tie for pike, that would be great! I love seen flies on hooks or tubes. I have been tinkering around with tubes for pike a bit too, and can't wait till the ice is off the lakes so I can try them out. Also thanks for the tip on those balloon straws, I gonna see if I can track some down. Cheers, FA85
  14. Interesting flies. Is that foam or balsa on the those flies? Thanks for posting.
