All you thread breakers

Here is a tip that will save you time.I allways keep a spool of white 6/0 Uni thread locked and loaded for tying most flies.If I am tying larger flies,that need a stronger thread I will keep a spool of white monocord ready.They bowth will take a marker.

If I am going to tie a lot of one pattern I will load two bobbins, of the same or simmilar thread,and have the white thread close.

Once the broken thread has been secured,I will rethread the bobbin with the broken thread.

This will give me a break for a second,then I will continue with the pattern.

Stay cool and make sure your bobbins are not the cause of thread breakage.

I hate breaking my thread it drives me crazy

It took me several screams and a broken glass to figure out my ceramic bobbon holder was causing the problem.

I am now using a cheap metal version. Threw the expensive one out the window, literally.

I have yet tp break my thread with the cheap bobbin holder.

 

So: Buy the cheap ones, they work better. At least for me they do.

I think the cheaper ones are better too. The only thing I spend money for are scissors.
