Li'l Dave, that's a nice sunfish, but it's distinctiveness, what kind is it. Nice fish.

Yeah Mike. They fight hard and dirty. Sooty grunter... fantastic fun. Fight is very similar to mangrove snapper.

Thanks mate, Goes by the name of Sooty Grunter. The gold and bronze hues on these guys are spectacular and they are a fantastic tropical freshwater target here in Australia.

That fish looks like a bruiser.  Good fight?

I was fishing size 6 firehole streamer hooks (811). They're a great hook but after about half a dozen or so they started to get the better of it.

Moose-and-Grizz-1080.jpg

Moose & Grizzly

Hook - Nymph/wet style

Thread - Black

Body - Moose mane

Thorax - Black beaver dubbing

Hackle - Grizzly hen

Apply a swipe of crazy glue to the thread wraps before wapping the moose mane or overcoat the body with uv resin

Playing with Flytire's nymph method shown above.  Using what I have on hand.  (special thanks to Powershooter, for the UV flashlight)

hook: size 8 nymph

body: light green foam and dark green d-rib

legs:  marabou, cut and UV resin'd into place

Those look "buggy" Mike. I'm guessing they will do the trick.
