The Little Red Book of Fly Fishing by Kirk Deeter I am currently trying to find this book in a store rather than order. But I was a big fan of the Harvey Penick original little red book regarding golf. I hear this is similar in read and entertainment

this is techniaclly my 3rd fly but fly numbers 1 and 2 did not look as intended by any stretch due to the Chanile I had. So number 3 i moved away from the wooly buggers and chanile to try something different Simple BWO nymph

i just started tying so I did not want to spend to much in case it was not for me. So far it has held the hooks fine

Looking through that gallery it is apparent I have some shopping to do

My Wife was coming with me, bringing along a spinning rod. It was allot of fun going out with her after work and on local rivers. Then I hooked her in the leg and she is not so interested in going out anymore

The hackle pliers would have come in handy for me. Guess I should have bought them too.

Being an absolute plug begginer at fly tying I have to agree with Davidpensfan87. A book with DVD would be great. Trying to learn by video alone is not going great for me. I am starting and stopping the video as I tie, but without fail i will be going through a part of the video for the 40th time while I am doing it. be focused on what I am doing and look up and video is now 4 fly's ahead. having an experly illustrated guide to follow after watching the video would be great. Spiral bound to lay flat. I have a theory on how the patterns should be laid out too but being an absolute novice I will wait a bit before sharing that opinion

Ok so a quick search on the subject reveals that I am an idiot and you should/can indeed adjust the tension on the bobbin for the thread. I will assume that this will fix my problem of breaking thread moving forward. However, what do i do when I break the thread. I now have a piece of unattached thread on the hook and need to tie on new thread to a hook that is already covered in feathers and chanille... BTW new member from Wasaga Beach, Ontario. just started Fly Fishing and now tying.
