whatfly 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2017 Does anyone sell saddles for salmon dries in sizes 10 to 6 ? I have Whiting and Metz saddles but almost all are size 12 and smaller , Thanks ................Frank Saddles are always going to have a limited range of feathers. A standard neck/cape should have the sizes you seek. They generally have a much larger range. Either a lower grade 1/2 neck or a "pro-grade" cape should be cheap enough to justify the extra expense for what sounds like a limited number of patterns. vicente 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2017 check with Collins hackle farm great guy to buy from, I ordered his grab bag and there seems to be a good number in that size on each saddle.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2017 I'm going to stick my head up and say you don't need 'dry fly' hackles for salmon dries. I've tied plenty that will keep a #10 salmon hook afloat using a pro grade whiting cape and cheap Indian necks
flytire 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2017 I just ordered from Collins and agree his saddle hackles would be up to the job Whiting American rooster would work too
