Just a few from tonight I am going to have to make a trip to the fly shop because trying to substitute different materials doesn't work to well sometimes . the pheasant tail nymph especially . I didn't have and partridge to use as wing ... so i tried Wood duck Flank , it doesn't work well . The green and white Deer Hair Caddis is just something i tried because the local lake rainbows love green and white flies . Picking up a Hair stacker tomorrow , I don't like the looks of non stacked deer or elk hair , Even though some people say it don't matter . As always, every pattern I tie gets posted on my fly tying blog Visit My Tying Blog

thanks for the advice . sometimes it is just easier to understand when it is said by a person versus reading about it .

Right now I just practice using materials that came in a kit that was purchased about 10 yrs ago . Once i become more skilled , I will try and pick up the correct materials to tie specific patterns. Although , experimenting with substitute materials when tying classic patterns can lead to good things .
