  1. 24-70(mm) is the lense Wulff had on his camera body
  2. Thats a nice set of pictures, your talent is remarkable
  3. Nice pics Jay, I really like that black and whites of the chugach mts and the rail car. Alaska is photagrapher's paradise
  4. I really like that last one and the golden gate pic, but they all look good
  5. WOW that is one nice picture! How did you get the lake to stand still for you the water is flat as glass you must have been scoping out that are for a long time waiting for the right conditions
  6. Yes that will catch fish, Ive caught bluegills, bass, and alot of trout on it. Some people think that it represents a caddis pupa, some think its a "power bait" imitation, I think it catches fish
  7. Those look great! and that looks like one nice caddis imitation also
  8. when I was out shooting yesterday I changed my lense in the field and I got dust on the processor, I didnt know till the end of the day so some of my shots with lighter backgrounds have a spot in them. Now I cleaned the dust off the processor, but is their anyway to prevent this from hapening again? I guess what I am asking is their any tricks to dust free lense changing?

    Hi

I was useing a tripod but it isnt a really good one and when I go to press the button it moves alittle, I really need a good tripod and a remote release. I definatly think your right about the time of year and the woods being really drab making it hard for a photo. But my luck has come and its spring time here in Arkansas, the trees are starting to bud and we should have some color soon. Ill probably go back next weekend to shoot some more. The creek runs into my local waters so every weekend when I go fish I can shoot if if I want.

    Hi

Well I took the camera out for the first time today since getting it I was trying to get some of those moving water shots what do you think? Criticism accepted, you cant learn without it :headbang:
  12. Looks cool but what is this film stuff you talk about? :hyst:

    Hi

Wulff, thats exactly what I was thinking, use the 18-55mm lens for a while when I get everything else (good tripod, remote actuator, more CF cards, filters, external flash, plane tickets to Alaska....) then I would go ahead and upgrade the 18-55mm

    Hi

Hey Ashby, I was debating between the 40D and 30D, dosnt seem like much of a diffrence between the 2 other then mega pixils and screen size. I really dont think that the 1.9 meg pix diffrence is that big of a deal, the biger screen would be cool but I just opted to spend less money so I could invest more cash is glass. I have a freind I work with that is into photography and he has a extra 70-200mm F/4 ''L series" lens laying around and a 18-55mm kit lens that he is selling to me for a good price . I planning on upgrading the kit lense when I get the money but for right now it should work great. Also is that your bird in the back ground? (in your advatar) must be a cool mission to work. I am a Eng troop on the c130 Neil

    Hi

Hello, some of you guys might know me if you hang out in the RBF cause I have drifted over from there. I kinda have been lurking in the photography forum for some time now, checking out all your guys handy work and I am impressed. My dad is a photographer and I think it has rubed off on me. For the past couple years I have been doing my best work with my canon S2 IS advaced point and shoot camera, but I have been really wanting to upgrade. Luckily the tax man came with a nice refund this year and I am blessed to be able to puchase a new camera. I have been searching around and I opted to purchase the Canon 30D camera, the anticipation will kill me the next couple days as I wait for it to come in the mail but for the mean time, I just get to sit back and learn from you'all. Anyway I just wanted to say Hi Neil
