Would anybody be interested in a January Steelhead trip to the Lake Erie tribs? Trip will be dictated by weather & water conditions

January 2005
Thursday 6 or Friday 7 thru to Monday 10 or Tuesday 11

I have never fished in that neck of the woods so I would need some help from you guys with lodging locations, streams/creeks, fly/tackle shops, etc...

I figured I would get the ball rolling with this post before the holidays get fully underway.

I am defiently interested. Most years it seems that the tribs are frozen solid by then but it is worth a shot to try for a trip.

There are a ton of places to stay in the area so lodging won't be an issue.

I was thinking about heading up here late Nov or Early Dec as well. I'm game for a January trip. If anything that'll keep alot of the warm blooded home.

I'm in!

That time of year we will have our pick of places.
A favorite of mine is the Thunderbird motel on Route 5.

Nothing more than trailers with a kitchen. Just a place to keep dry and warm
They have a fridge to keep beer cold too wink.gif

Don't think we will have a problem keeping anything cool that time of year in Erie. tongue.gif

Getting there can definitely be a big problem that time of the year.scared.gif

I'm game, weather permitting ! bugeyes.gif

Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day.

Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Where, exactly, are you guys going? I'd love to get out there, but it's a loooong drive from here.

mcfly - Where are you headed in late Nov/early Dec?

I know where they live, I know what they eat. Now it's time to fool them with thread, feathers and roadkill.

Not sure where just yet or when, I'd like to get up before Christmas time permitting. I only live just over an hour away.
