There is an old grayling dry fly pattern that uses blue / yellow macaw this way, Red wool tail and a honey dun hackle, called Tommy's Favourite. I've always liked that effect, The way the colour changes as the angle you view it from changes is captivating. That will be a great way to use the red / blue macaw. Nicely done.
