Whiting CDL hen. Wow. Big feathers mean big soft hackles. These are #8 3366, holographic tinsel, hare's ear mixed with a wee bit red wool.

I have a plastic one from my rod building days.

Carey Special hook - 9672 #8 tail - Ringneck Pheasant rib - tinsel (almost every color I have) body - peacock hackle - Ringneck Pheasant I saw this fly tied a bunch of different ways when I researched it on the innerwebs. I used different feathers from different areas of the pheasant trying to decide what I liked best. Ended up tying them like a big soft hackle.

My wife has something similar to this. Works well. Still easier to bring flies out in the sun.
