Fish identification

being from land locked Kentucky, I haven't a clue...at first glance I thought it was a ling cod! :D

That's definaltly a burbot. We call them Lawyers up here in Michigan lol. You can tell by the dorsal fin extending the length of the body. They are just fresh water cod as one of the other posts said. They are very good eating but you do not get a whole lot of meat off of them. Kind of look like a cross between an eel and catfish.

That is definatly not a burbot. If you look a the dorsal fin (top) it starts right after the head on a burbot the dorsal fin starts mid way down the body. Also colouration is gray, a burbot is olive withl leopard markings.

used to catch burbot on set lines in the Tanana River in Alaska... they were blue and green and skinnier than the fish in the pics, and they were excellent eating, almost like lobster!!
