Panama Red 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 All great looking flies Whit. What is the second fly down?
Whitner 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 Panama, it's a Merkin style crab. You can't appreciate the splayed feathers or the body. I used EP brush for the body and gave it a trim.

Chefben4 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 Diggin the bottom one! Does that have keel weight or anything?
Whitner 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2014 Chefben, the shank is just wrapped gold flash with a Clear cure goo coat, no lead or anything. It rides hook point up with the craft fur and feather up top. That little guy lands silently though and is sort of a variation of a Chico Special I came up with. Steve P 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2014 I tie something extremely similar to the last one for carp for the exact same reason. Lands quiet as a mouse but remains hook point up. Excellent flies sir. Â Steve

atxdiscgolfer 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2014 They all look nice, i especially like the 1st fly with the olive/blue legs
Whitner 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2014 Thanks guys. That first fly produced a nice little black and three reds yesterday. Definetly will be tyingore up. With the body being EP brush it lands quietly, casts easy and has some nice action in combination with the hackles off the back.
