I always thought Friday the 13th was bad luck, but apparently it's all superstition. We had a series of bad storms roll through this afternoon, and some more were on the way. I managed to sneak in some fishing for about an hour until a loud clap of thunder signaled the end of my adventure. Since we had some storms and rain roll through, I didn't expect to catch much. The ponds were nice and still, so I tied on a foam ant to try fishing on the surface. The action was HOT! I was getting strikes on almost every cast. I caught 5 Bluegill and 3 Largemouth Bass. One of the bass was quite a porker!

Nice fish. I haven't ever caught bass on a foam ant before. What size were you you using?

Size 8. The fly looked so tiny when compared to it's mouth!

Yes, it's light green with white legs. In those ponds, black works equally as well.
