I took a proven topwater and made a little change, articulating the tail/hook to allow it to (hopefully) slide over weed cover without hanging as frequently as a fixed hook. It does stay much more weed-free than other standard topwaters I use, but still will hang on occasion and need cleaned off before re-casting. Smaller bass seemed to miss the hook a lot, but anything a pound or bigger seems to get hooked consistently and not hooked deep, two things I was worried about. I threw it in some heavy slop, weed mats on Friday and Monday, and heavy lily pads on Saturday.
