SBPatt 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2019 hook - Dai Riki 075 #8 thread - Danville 6/0 wine tail - hackle red rib - small wire gold body - mylar tinsel opal body hackle - hen grizzly dyed golden brown (1Tbs Rit Golden Yellow, 1 Tsp Rit Tan/1 cup water) collar hackle - hen grizzly dyed red cloak - bronze mallard mash barb/start thread 1 eye width back from eye strip off some bronze mallard fibers; roll measure (hook length+); tie in with fibers facing forward, rolling fibers around the shank, trim butts wrap to bend; strip some hackle fibers, measure (shank length); tie in/tie in rib tie in tinsel, wrap forward, tie off/trim tie in (folded) hackle by tip; wrap to bend wrap wire thru hackle, helicopter end/cover with thread; trim hackle tip tie in (folded) shoulder hackle; take a couple wraps, tie off/trim stroke mallard fibers back; tie down (probably should have tied in the body hackle back a couple turns farther to keep the head from getting crowded like this) even tips on another strip of bronze mallard, strip off, fold measure (halfway back to tip of tail); tie in/trim wax the crap out of your thread, build up the head, whip finish, SHHAN Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
