  1. LUCKY489!!!!!!!! :ban: :ban: :ban: :ban: :ban: The second prize a handmade wood fly box goes to Robert F Thank you everyone for participating. There were 56 $20 slots. It appears that we will indeed make our goal almost exactly. As far as the drawing for the fly tiers I believe Steve is doing that soon. BTW, if anyone would like complete accounting of this drawing I will not be offended to supply it. Be Well! Fish On! Bill
  2. The drawing is closed. It appears that we have come very close to our revised goal. Close enough that the reels have been purchased and I will hammer the Rod Tube Manufacturer into a discount enough to meet each other. There were a couple of last minute Donors, so I will give their checks a few days to get here before the drawing. I will hold the drawing on Saturday. Thanks again, everyone that participated in putting new Lamson reels and Landmark tubes and socks on the Custom Rods that were made for Reel Recovery by the RBF crew. You will make a difference in a lot of mens lives.!! Be Well! Fish On!
  3. I'm glad to say your odds are now changing faster! Bill AKA whirnot

I could not agree more. As a less than fantastic caster, I was on a trip to Alaska last year. We hiked in, dodged bears, and hit the spot we were searching for. The wind blew 20 to 30 all day, changing directions often, with driving rain. The fishing was once in a lifetime, 300 + fish, Averageing 23 to 24 inch for three anglers. I was equipped with one of my custom Burkheimers. It was a day I will never forget. I have had similar windy days in Wyoming when I was equipped with lesser rods and just could not beat the wind. I truly feel a high tech rod can allow some to fish when they otherwise woulf not be able to.
  5. Ashby, I stole your lathe photo, and posted it on RBF to gig a member over there. I did of course credit the photo to you.
  6. When my wife bought her Canon, It appeared the Nikon was much faster on the start up. For some that is a big issue. for her it came down to lens compatibility, as she had a bunch of Canon lenses. Otherwise it would have been the Nikon hands down.
  7. . Sorry Chub, I saw this on TFF but not here. Make your check out to Red Feather fly rods. You should put Reel recovery on the memo line for your records The reason for this is we will be purchasing reels and socks and tubes with the money. Btw we are keeping a complete accounting and it will be available should any donor request it. And Thank you.
  8. You guys that have committed so far, It is really appreciated. I have to admit we haven't gotten the response we thought we would. Remember a 40 fly donation gives you a chance at a custom made MWCR Fly rod! And a $20 Donation gives you no less than a 1 in 100 chance at a Custom CF Burkheimer Fly rod! Crappie, Yes they can also use Warmwater flies as there are gift boxes given out to Retreat participants.
  9. Hey guys if sending a PM from this site My screen name is redfeather (whirnot on the other sites) Not quite sure why. We want to deliver them to Reel recovery By April 1st, so If you can have them to Steve by March 21st that would be great! If anyone wants to participate but just can't make the deadline we will of course still accept your donation when you can.. For the cash donations we have the same time frame. We will have the drawing for the Burkheimer 8'3" 4 pc, 4 wt. as soon as we have 100 - $20 donations. That way you have a 1 in 100 chance of winning this custom rod. BTW if you are not familiar with Burkheimer, spend a little time and search them, they are some of the finest rods made, at any price! Thanks for your consideration of this great cause!!!!
  10. With the cost of fuel the generetoer thing might be a problem
