We're not going to have to worry about you joining the legion of material junkies are we Steve? I found it comforting, your repeated statements that tying was cheap when you stick to two or three patterns.

And no, I'm not buying anything to tie these things up. This is all stuff I've had for years. The foam is Dollar Tree. The thread is sewing thread from my sister's stash. ( I inherited a bunch of that when she passed).

I remember buying the hackle from E-bay ... but it was a long time ago. I rarely use it.

 

Sitting in a hotel room gives me time to play with stuff I've not used before.

I can't seem to get the wings to lie flat against the abdomen when I tie them in. They stick up too far for my liking.
