  1. I like all of the suggestions this far, but as of this year my favorite streamer for meat-eating behemoth trouts is McDonough's Slap-N-Tickle in Tan. It has been a good friend to me this year, very good.
  2. That booby damsel is tits! I'm really excited to try fishing boobies for the first time soon, haven't fished stillwater in a while. It seems like such a great method for fishing stillwater, and it must work or they wouldn't have banned it in some of the UK lochs. vewy intewesting, thanks for sharing!
  3. Gamakatsu Octopus hooks are great trailing hooks for streamers.
  4. It's a lot like a foam Humpy! Cool pattern
  5. My first was a San Juan Worm, hahah! After that it was a black and olive Woolly Buggers for a few flies, then the Adams. Still really a newb, that was in 2007. I am obsessed, though, so I have that going for me.
  6. I didn't think the option that fit me most was available, realistics are impressive, and an art form, but not necessarily efficient as fishing flies, too much expense of time & materials to be practical. I guess my choice would have been "impressive, artistic, but impractical."
  7. Davie, what hook make/model is that you're using? I like the upturned eye.
  8. I love this pattern. I have seen many similar, and this is my favorite. Mr. McPhail uses a simple finishing method for sealing these up so nicely, nobody ever told me to layer varnish over superglue before, but it seems obvious now. Thanks for your enlightening videos and beautiful work.
  9. Hi, I'm new here, first post. My vote is Red as an excellent prospecting dropper, followed closely by Chartreuse, then Copper. I use the Chartreuse as a caddis pupa, at least that's how I think of it. The fish might think it's a dinner mint, for all I know.
