  1. Wow, thanks for the great info. Question on the copper wire, what is the best to get from J. Stockard?
  2. Awesome, Thanks for the tips!! I will work on a few flies to start. I am thinking of tying a egg pattern like this one I am going to try to go north in the beginning of april and try for some steelhead. I mainly fish burnett, polk, and douglas counties. That hatch chart link should help out greatly. Thanks again for the info. I cant wait to show off my first flies and catch(I hope) :-)
  3. Hello all, I am new to fly fishing and just started to buy stuff for tying. I have been doing a lot of reading on the internet and in this forum. I was wondering if there is a good place to get info for good flies to tie for Northern Wisconsin waters? I am looking to catch trout, bass, panfish, crappie, and steelhead. Also can you all recommend me what thread, feathers, and other stuff I need to start tying for my area? I know I am asking a lot but with all the different flies out there I don't want to be tying flies that don't work at all for my location. I am planning on ordering up a bunch of thread, some different lead wire, and copper wire. but I am lost on what hair and feathers. If I can get a good list of flies to tie I will order up what I need for those to start.
