  1. I`d say do the epoxywork, then tie the fly It`s A LOT easier epoxying when you don`t have to worry about the epoxy getting on the materials Cheers, Peter
  2. There`s definetely one in the "Rookie category" that´ll have to send a fly here! Good work everybody! Cheers, Peter
  3. boba, The basket is nowhere near "waterproof", and in case a lot of water enters very quickly, it simply falls out(does`nt fall out from your average swells though ) Cheers, Peter
  4. Beautiful seatrout tcr! Seems that things are finally starting to happen here in Denmark. :yahoo: Cheers, Peter
  5. Nice shrimps! Especially the "Øland Spey Shrimp" is one of my "why-did`nt I come up with that"-flies... Cheers, Peter
  6. Tcr, Nice shrimps! Could`ve used a couple of them today  Gin-clear water, sheltered, and all I had was #2 sandeels & shrimps Tried to tie some transparent shrimps this fall. The closest I got was this(tied with white floss mixed with yellow floss). Did`nt catch anything, but that`s most likely my own fault... Do you have a "standard hooksize" for the Aura shrimps? Cheers, Peter
  7. Thanks! Great shots! Got some ideas to try out Cheers, Peter
  8. Tcr, The colouration on that sandeel looks great! Do you have anymore pictures of it? Cheers, Peter
  9. I tried it with a "flexi-stripper look-a-like" design made of HEAVY monofilament, and a couple of other "great ideas", but since I did`nt notice any difference between them, and the version without line tenders, I left them out. Cheers, Peter
  10. It cost 10$ to make, and the belt can be used again. I used to place the flies I`d used in the rim of the basket, instead of putting them back in the box. After this basket got worn out, it`s been "reborn" as Gurglers, foam ants, foam beetles, foam inlay in a waterproof plastic box(=flybox), "drying plate" for my flytying table, pieces of foam for sending flies to swaps,...... And the best part, it actually works!!! Cheers, Peter
  11. Apperantly Danes have a problem BUYING stripping baskets I made this one from closed cell foam bought in a crafts store. Best part is, that when it`s worn out there`s enough material for a thousand foam beetles! (sorry for the poor picture quality) Cheers, Peter PS: tcr, is that picture taken in Norway?
  12. Here`s the current gas/diesel prices in Denmark, Europe, Gas: app. 1,8$ PR. LITRE!... Diesel: app. 1.1$ PR. LITRE!... A gallon is about 4 litres. And I did`nt even mention the almost 200% "registration tax"(of the cars price) before you can even put the plates on. You can pay that with what`s left after you`ve payed 40% in income tax... And we don`t even have stripers or bones to justify it! Cheers, Peter
  13. DO NOT SUPERGLUE!!! I`d gotten the clever idea to superglue two strips "back-to-back" to spare me the frustration of having to use the thread to "tie them together". I tied on the two strips and was ready to go, added a small amount of superglue, and.... the moment the superglue hit the strips they curled up like two springs! As if this was`nt bad enough, the skin went hard, as in "break-it-like-a-stick-hard".... Do ALWAYS test chemicals on a small sample of the material you`re going to use it on! I figured that out after I tied the "smoking(literally) Gurgler"... Cheers, Peter
  14. Thanks again! I`ll enjoy it Cheers, Peter
