  1. I enjoy Euro nymphing to a point. The first words out of my wife's mouth would be then why the hell did we buy all these reels
  2. Get white & use sharpies to color.Usually olive or chartruse with scattered black dots.
  3. This is one of the less impressive patterns in my fly box.Yet it never ceases to amaze me the way the fish eat it. The colors make no difference
  4. Sometimes plain & simple are the most effective flies
  5. Not much in the way of materials at the ISE show.I tied there fri.Only a few shops mostly had bargains on equitment. One furrier has some beautiful fox, coon & coyote tails at reasonable prices.Try Discount tackle on Sante Fe.There will be a small show with bargains later this winter comprised of local companies with better prices.Watch the internet & papers for time & place.
  6. Blue Quill Anglers in Evergreen,Co FREE shipping on orders over $5.00.100 brass beads $5.00.25% off on Dai-riki hooks. Also regular selection of brand name supplies.Great people Pat Dorsey part owner
  7. Put hook in vise upside down.pick up bead with forceps & slip on.Some times will need to crip barb a little.Glass & rubber beads wet finger tip & press bead on tip then onto hook.
  8. REDINGTON PREDATOR CASTS LIKE A ROCKET WILL DRAG A SUBMARINE OUT OF WEEDS
  9. Out here in colorado we use 7.5 to 9 ft 20# flourocarbon leaders with a #0 or #1 snap.Catch lots of 14" to 40 fish with very little loss of flies or broken off fish. The flies range from 3/0 pike bunnies to #2 wooley buggers so a tapered leader is not needed. Also using a polmar knot for the snap seems fool proof.
  10. If someone drops out or can't meet the deadline pm me.I'll be glad to help.
  11. I have a Redington RS4 with Pike & Bass line.It throws large hair poppers & streamers with ease.I also have a Redington Predator with Sage 230gr line for heavy weeded situations. Both are 8wts.As far as the size of flies go I use sythentic materials because they absorb less water & are much easier to cast. The biggest drawback to catching Pike & Bass on a fly rod is it becomes very adictive.BEWARE!!!!
  12. I have used hundreds of these hooks.Never bent one tying, haven't broken any fishing.I finally found 1 hook with a bad eye.I say thats a great track record. I have bought several other products from Will & co and have come to expect top quality products at great prices. Thanks guys.
  13. Rich Pilatzke @ [email protected] .One of the best & most generous with charties. All around nice guy.
  14. 6th finger from hatches.have both types.really handy.always on hand.no more knocking things on the floor when looking for sissors.had them for a while.still sharp &springy & I tie hundreds of flies every year.
  15. I have a Redington RS4 & a Predator both 8wt.I use 8wt bass & pike lines cast great.Also,the RS4 has landed a 19# & 15# Carp and a 48" Northern.I use a Trion 1978 reel for stopping power.Go to a tackle shop & ask to.try a reel with 8wt & 9wt line before you buy.Most shops have a casting area you can use.That way you won't make a costly mistake.You will be plesantly suprised by the casting of fast action rods.Just use a slight hesitation on the backcast.
