Since 2003 FlyTyingForum.com has grown from a handful of people to 30,000 registered members and has become the largest fly tying community in the world. In 2007 I published the first issue of Hatches because I felt the FTF community could offer a printed magazine that far exceeds anything the fly tying world has ever seen published. To this day, Hatches is largely made up of articles submitted to me by FTF member and FTF will continue to play a large role in the future of Hatches. Hatches truly is a grassroots effort, unlike many of the other publications in circulation that have the backing of large media corporations. The future of both Hatches and FTF depends on the support of FTF members like you. For $7 a year, you not only help ensure that I have the resources needed to be able to offer you all of the features you enjoy today free of charge, you also get 96 pages of pure fly tying awesomeness that is worth the price by itself. Click Here for Subscription Info Thank You -Will

Literally hated it so much that our 10 day vacation turned into a 27 day stay, with 10 of them spent in the Middleton, Lawrencetown, Caledonia area. Our goal was to find some family for my wife. We found her dads brother and his family. Also a nieghbor of my wife's family was still there after 40 plus years.
My wife and her family left that area and move to Ontario when she was 4-5 years old and never returned. My wife's parents both deceaced at the time and no knowledge of family. Here is the kicker after not seeing my wife past the age of 4/5 yrs. old Mrs. Carl Ruggles answered her door with Hello Patsy, Carl and I knew you would return some day. Carl unfortunately had passed away the year before.

We never had contact with the lady before my wife knocked on the door.
She later said that she knew it was Pat because of where we parked the car just across and up the road from the Ruggles driveway. Where we stop to look out at the Valley was the place where Pat and here family lived in 1956 before they moved away after the house had burnt down. Wierd but true.

I am about 40 minutes from there. To tell you the truth that doesnt surprise me that she was remembered. Most people that live here know each other well. It is very rural and not much to do so it is hard not to miss a beat. Most people that were born here always come back either for a visit or end up retiring here. Cant say as I blame them
