krisse 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2005 This is my fist post for this gategory and i'll like to show you my most productive early season troutfly that i use a lot here in Finland. This fly is first tied four years ago. It's tied mostly using Roman Moser Ghostfiber and eyes i made from pearl beadchain tinted black and holo gold paper glued to back of the eyes. When the fly is wet, it's very transparent and looks like real fish. Hope you like it.
harleyhunter 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2005 Great looking tie. I'm looking foward to some of your future ties. Best Wishes, Sam
sage8wt 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2005 Really nice looking tie. I would think that pattern would have numerous applications outside of targeting trout (bass, pike, fishing the surf) I really like that pattern.
Joe Hard 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2005 Great fly, I like those style of flies and could only imagine them in the water. I have never tied one. The gold behind the eye gives the fly a mean, cool look. What is the hook?
krisse 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2005 Thanks for your kind words. I'm sure it would be good for bass and other predatory species. The hook I used is Mustad Stinger #8.
Redwings1 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2005 Well done my friend! I tie a number of patterns in a similar style to this and have had excellent luck all over the US with them.
